Welcome back for our 2nd IMAC Contest and this year we are making it even bigger and better by challenging the SE region and the NE region to a THREE DAY shootout contest!
Southeastern Modelers Flying Club (SMFC) is located on the NC / SC state line, conveniently located between Wilmington NC and Myrtle Beach SC. The 800’ grass runway literally crosses the state line so that you can take of in one state and land in the other! A favorite photo op is to snap a picture of your plane crossing (or hovering for 3D pilots) right over the line…
We have incredible facilities with electrical power along the flight line for charging batteries. There are six 30A power outlets for standard trailers and sixteen 30A/50A power outlets available in the RV camping area. (Electricity only, no water or sewer hookup). Trailer and RV Power for the weekend is $25. Reserving these spaces in advance strongly encouraged.
Primitive tent camping and RV Camping sites without power are FREE.
We have porta potties on site and a full bathroom with a shower in the air-conditioned club house. Plus, a covered area with picnic tables is located behind the main flight station where you can watch all the flying action.
We expect to have Lunches and Dinners available throughour the contest. Meals provided at a nominal cost to support the club. Menu and prices are still TBD but if you have been to any of our events you will know that we like to eat well.
The field will be open on Wednesday afternoon for arrivals, open flying on Thursday for practice and a judge’s review. FRI-SAT-SUN Contest days.
SMFC allows 2.4ghz ONLY and follows the AMA safety code.
Contest Entry Fee: $40 for IMAC Members, $60 NON-MEMBERS.
NO SPECTATOR OR PARKING FEES, COME AND ENJOY THE SHOW.
Standard sequences for Novice, Basic, Intermediate, Advance and Unlimited. Free Style on Sunday. Awards for top three pilots in each class. Plaques given to all contest participants. Pilots meeting on Friday at 8:00am, Wheels up at 8:30am
Novice Class will be offered for this contest.
This class is designed for pilots who would like to try IMAC in a stress free non-competitive environment. Novice class will fly on Saturday only. Aircraft DOES NOT need to be a scale aerobatic aircraft. Pilots will fly the 2020 Basic sequence along with the Basic class and will be judged and scored by IMAC certified judges. Pilot will receive tips, techniques and feedback and this is a fantastic way to be involved on what precision aerobatics is all about without the competition and stress factor aspect of the contest. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, (Disclaimer) there is no antidote for the IMAC bug bite.
SIMPLY ART IN THE SKY!
