Welcome to SMFC 3rd Annual IMAC Challenge.
Southeastern Modelers Flying Club (SMFC) is located on the NC / SC state line, conveniently located between Wilmington NC and Myrtle Beach SC. The 800’ grass runway literally crosses the state line so that you can take of in one state and land in the other! IMAC pilots will complete one half of their routing in each state. A favorite photo op is to snap a picture of your plane crossing (or hovering for 3D pilots) right over the state line…
We have incredible facilities with electrical power along the flight line for charging batteries. There are eight 30A power outlets for standard trailers and fourteen 30A/50A power outlets available in the RV camping area. (Electricity only, no water or sewer hookup). Trailer and RV Power for the weekend is $25. Reserving these spaces in advance strongly encouraged. Tent camping and RV Camping sites without power are FREE.
We have porta potties on site and a full bathroom with a shower in the air-conditioned club house. Plus, a covered area with picnic tables is located behind the main flight station where you can watch all the flying action.
Lunch and dinner will be available on Saturday with lunch available on Sunday. Saturday’s evening meal is included for Pilots with your contest fees. Other meals are offered at a nominal cost to support the club. Menu and prices are still TBD.
The field will be open at 8am on Friday for camping arrivals with open flying all day.

Novice Class will be offered for this contest.
This class is designed for pilots who would like to try IMAC in a stress free non-competitive environment. Novice class will fly on Saturday only. Aircraft DOES NOT need to be a scale aerobatic aircraft. Pilots will fly the 2020 Basic sequence along with the Basic class and will be judged and scored by IMAC certified judges. Pilot will receive tips, techniques and feedback and this is a fantastic way to be involved on what precision aerobatics is all about without the competition and stress factor aspect of the contest. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, (Disclaimer) there is no antidote for the IMAC bug bite.
SIMPLY ART IN THE SKY!
