Event Information
Competition
The event will be conducted as a combined IMAC Asia Pacific Regional Championships and ASAA National Championships. Entries are open to all Australian and international pilots. IMAC flyers in the Asia Pacific Region are particularly encouraged to attend as this is the inaugural regional championships.
There is no qualification criteria for entry. Entries will be accepted from all competent pilots on a first registered and paid basis. Entries will initially be limited to approximately 50 pilots to ensure sufficient rounds are completed during the three days of the event.
The competition will be conducted in accordance with the current IMAC rule book and MAAA safety procedures.
Competition will be open to all classes of IMAC – basic, sportsman, intermediate, advanced and unlimited. All classes will fly the 2019 known sequence. Sportsman, intermediate, advanced and unlimited will fly an unknown on each day of the competition.
The competition will be conducted on two separate flight lines. It is anticipated that pilots will fly 10 known sequences and 3 unknown sequences during the event (subject to time and weather permitting).
Dates
The competition will be held on three days – Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December 2019. The field will be available for official practice on 27 and 28 November. The field may be available earlier by prior arrangement with the event organisers.

Venue
Dalby Model Aero Club, 743 Cecil Plains Road, Dalby Queensland Australia.

Competition flying will be conducted on two separate flight lines. There will be no intersection of aerobatic boxes.
The host club has good amenities for hosting the event including club house with kitchen, ablutions block including showers with hot water, covered pits with 240 volt power.
We have arranged marquees for storage of planes overnight.
Entry Fees and Registration
Entry Fees must be paid in advance to secure your position in the competition. Entry fees are as follows:

Entries fees must be paid prior to your entry being confirmed. Please go to www.scaleaeros.com.au (ASAA Shop) to make payment of your entry fee or to purchase additional dinner tickets.
Entries will be processed as payments are received. Entries will initially be limited to the first 50 pilots. Once this number is reached any additional pilots will go on a waiting list.

Camping & Accommodation
The facilities provided by DMAC at the field are very good for camping. Camping fees for the weekend will be $10 per person per night (to cover costs of generator etc). Camping fee’s will also be collected at pilot registration.
The camping areas are not exceptionally large, please consider others, and the room required when setting up your camp. 11:00pm is QUIET time! Please consider other campers, by all means keep enjoying yourself, but turn down the music and keep any noise to a minimum.
For those looking for other accommodation options, Dalby township is about a 5-minute drive with numerous accommodation and dining options. Recommended options include Dalby Tourist Park and Motel Myall. See www.wotif.com for various other options.
The Competition Dinner and ASAA Annual General Meeting (to be held on Saturday evening) will be at Dalby Leagues Club, Orpen Street, Dalby.
Food & Catering
The club will be providing basic catering for breakfast and lunch for purchase on each day of the Competition.
There will be a “Welcome” function on the Thursday evening before the start of the event. Finger food and pizza will be provided – BYO drinks This function is included in the entry fee. (There will also be a compulsory pilot briefing and judging refresher).
The Competition Dinner and ASAA Annual General Meeting will be at Dalby Leagues Club, Orpen Street, Dalby on Saturday evening. A two course dinner will be served. There will be a cash bar. This function is included in the entry fee.
There are numerous supermarkets and shops in Dalby for purchase of food and other necessities.
Preliminary Schedule
We will be flying on two flight lines during the competition. Use of each flight line will vary depending upon the position of the sun.

Additional Competition Information
The competition will be run under standard IMAC rules.
An unknown round will be flown on each day, with the schedule being handed out at the pilot briefing in the morning,
Where possible 2 sequence known rounds will apply, classes with large numbers may be restricted to single sequence rounds (with more rounds included if possible). All Unknowns will be single sequence as is normal.
Special note: Illegal manoeuvres prior to entering the box will not be tolerated. This also includes manoeuvres after completion of the sequence and landing. Please read the rule book if you uncertain of what constitutes a legal turn around manoeuvre.
Judging
As is normal, pilots will be required to judge fellow competitors in other classes. It’s important that pilots have good grasp of the rules and their application. It is highly recommended that all pilots give the rule book some more study prior to the competition.
Judge and scribe duties will be post each day, please ensure you are available to perform your required duties! iPads will be used for scoring where possible.
International Competitors
The nearest international airport to the event site is Brisbane International Airport. This airport is services by most international airlines that provide services to Australia.
The competition site is approximately 2 ½ hour drive by car from the airport.
Please contact the competition director if you require any assistance with the transport of models etc from the airport to the competition site.
We will need to ensure that you have appropriate public liability insurance whilst you are flying in Australia. This can be organised via the Model Aeronautical Association of Australia. If you have an FAI Sporting Licence there should be no additional cost to you. Please liaise with the competition director regarding insurance.
