2019 Nats Prelims

Overall, there were 16 pilots flying in the 2019 Nats Prelims contest. In no particular order they were: BATTS, BENJAMIN, HEDRICK, JJ, HUMMEL, RICHARD, JACKSON, WILLIAM, JOHNSON, MITCH, KOELLING, KURT, LAMBERT, RHETT, LYMAN, TY, MATUSTIK, LOUIS, MESSICK, GEORGE, MOSER, DAVID, POWELL, DANIEL, SHOCKLEY, CHRISTOPHER, TEMPLETON, BEN, THURMAN, MARK and VOLDRICH, RUDY. These pilots flew a grand total of 480 judged sequences. 

JACKSON, WILLIAM won the Sportsman class. There were 4 pilots in Sportsman. The winning order was: (1) JACKSON, WILLIAM, (2) TEMPLETON, BEN, (3) SHOCKLEY, CHRISTOPHER and (4) HUMMEL, RICHARD. They flew 12 known sequences (6 rounds) and 3 unknown rounds. The scores ranged from a low of 7,437.4 to a high of 9,955.3 (a range of 2,517.9 points). 

HEDRICK, JJ won the Intermediate class. There were 4 pilots in Intermediate. The winning order was: (1) HEDRICK, JJ, (2) POWELL, DANIEL, (3) VOLDRICH, RUDY and (4) THURMAN, MARK. They flew 12 known sequences (6 rounds) and 3 unknown rounds. The scores ranged from a low of 8,737.9 to a high of 9,995.4 (a range of 1,257.6 points). 

LAMBERT, RHETT won the Advanced class. There were 2 pilots in Advanced. The winning order was: (1) LAMBERT, RHETT and (2) MESSICK, GEORGE. They flew 12 known sequences (6 rounds) and 3 unknown rounds. The scores ranged from a low of 7,782.1 to a high of 10,000 (a range of 2,217.9 points). 

MOSER, DAVID won the Unlimited class. There were 6 pilots in Unlimited. The winning order was: (1) MOSER, DAVID, (2) KOELLING, KURT, (3) LYMAN, TY, (4) BATTS, BENJAMIN, (5) JOHNSON, MITCH and (6) MATUSTIK, LOUIS. They flew 12 known sequences (6 rounds) and 3 unknown rounds. The scores ranged from a low of 7,693.6 to a high of 9,996.2 (a range of 2,302.6 points). 

The tightest competition was for 1st place in the Sportsman class, with only 27.8 points difference between JACKSON, WILLIAM and TEMPLETON, BEN.
