So far so good....
We are two contest already into the 2009 season. I haven't seen better weather at these early season contests ever. The turnouts have been very good and we have all gotten a lot of flying in. Its been good to see everyone and see the winter projects that people have been working on.
Some important info for CD's to note:
The new "SCORE" program is in use and it seems to be very well excepted. With anything new, you will find areas that need to be learned. Two things that have come up so far are these.
1- Senior Points.
Pilots wishing to participate in Senior points need to make the registration people at each contest aware of this and to denote their names as such. This will then cue the scorekeeper to note this in the program. It has been missed at the first two contests.
2- Unknown Weighting.
If a contest is flown that will has more than 3 Known rounds, the weighting of the Unknown round needs to be changed so the Unknown round counts for 25% of the total score.
The Score program is extremely capable and has all this figured into it but, these two examples are not automatic.
The scorekeeper simply needs to check a few boxes and the rest is done for you.
Please be cognizant of these things.
The judging seminar was a big success and I again want to thank Ken McGuire, Marian Berninger and Will Berninger.
Lots of veterans and new IMAC'ers there learning the finer points of what it takes to a good job when sitting in the judges chair.
June is shaping up to be a busy month for us. Fly well and... No zero's!
