Hi Everyone,

Sorry, it's been a while since I last updated everyone on the status of the region.

To tell you the truth, we have been very busy with getting everything in place and it has shown. Contest participation has gone up by a factor of 2 in many cases over last year, 2 of our new contests this year started had 23 registered pilots which is not bad for a new contest.

All the CD's are coming up with new and unusual ideas for awards and after hours fun. I would love to single out a specific contest but that's next to impossible as each contest, both new and old have had something different interesting about it.

So based on that, I have decided that we will present an award to the best contest of the year. This will be pilots choice only and I will not vote at all in it. I will be creating a poll listing all the contests this year and the pilots will vote on the one they liked the best.

As you may be aware, the Regional Finals are quickly coming up. This contest is shaping up to be a fantastic contest. It is set for three days, 2 sets of unknowns will be flown and all the knowns we can get in. Unfortunately, we will not be able to announce the regional winners at the contest but I will be doing that as soon as possible afterwards. The regional awards will be a bit different from the previous years and will include the pilots name on the award.
