Eddie Bernaldez In 2004, I heard about a precision style of flying that involved duplicating full scale planes. I had been a pattern flier from back in the early 80's, so it peeked my interest. I went to my first contest in Sherman TX. and was hooked ever since. I have been in R/C since 1978. In my years of flying, I have flown everything from trainers to jets to heli’s. I have been my local clubs Vice-President now for 4 years. I am on my second year of working on the ISC and enjoying it. I spent the last two years as the SCARD and Chief judging instructor. I have helped with putting on our regions last three judging schools.

My everyday life includes (at this time) being engaged to a great gal which most everyone knows in the SC area. She reads and calls Aresti better than most. I am the Director of the Paramedic Program at Kilgore College. I have been in EMS for over twenty years and been teaching for 13 years. I have 3 grown kids on their own and a 15 year daughter. I also have two wonderful little ones (future step children). I hope to convert one to an IMAC pilot one day.

There is still many challenges in our region and I plan to do the best job I can to promote our IMAC contests.

South Central Regional Update – July/Aug 2009

Here we are now on the downhill slide of our season. It has been a very busy year for us with several contests. It has been great to see al the new faces enjoying the competitions. I have spoke with several and all have agreed that IMAC flying has started to make them better pilots. I realize that our region has had some problems with the points being off. I have contacted the CD's and asked to check their files and resubmit to our webmaster to be able to get them corrected. Including this coming weekends contest in Jackson, MS. we have six left for the year. Rick Byrd and I have been discussing next years judging schools. We plan to have one in Tulsa OK. and again at Tarrant College in Ft. Worth. We feel by doing two schools we can bring our friends up in the northern part of our region up to par without the impersonal emails, besides it is fun to travel to a new place.  We have had a rather slow transition in our region to our new website. I would like to see more posting of our contests and thread much like what we had/have going on over in Flying Giants. I had stated earlier this year that all IMAC business I would post here on this site. I have had emails from folks that say they couldn't find the information on F/G, I reminded them it was on our main site now. Please take time to THANK  all of our CD's, they work very hard to put on contests so the rest of us can enjoy these weekends, remember they have to convince their home club to give up a weekend of flying.  If I can do anything to make our region better for you, please email me.

Also…Congratulations to all of our NATS competitors. They all did a great job representing the South Central Region.

THANKS for being a great region and getting along.
