News about the first IMAC contest in the SE for 2017.

First the Bad News: We could not secure camping for the weekend in the park. The costs for the County required security are too great and the camping charges would be prohibitive. We will allow you to campers at the field Friday and Saturday nights but you cannot stay in the trailer overnight (County Park rules).

If you need to make arrangements to park or store your camper for the week (those attending the AMPS Judging School), please email me to make arrangements (dougpbrca@gmail.com).

Local Hotel info: We have not obtained any special rates on local Hotels but here is the list:

1) Fairfield Inn and Suites Delray: Address: 910 W Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, FL 33444
Phone: 561-279-2900. This is due east f the field, 95 and Atlantic Ave.

2) Holiday Inn Express, Boca West: Address: Lakeside Centre, 8144 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33434 Phone:(561) 482-7070 Turnpike and Glades Road.

3) Hilton Boca Raton Suites: Address: 7920 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33434 Phone:(561) 483-3600 Turnpike and Glades Road.

4) Hampton Inns, Lake Worth: Address: 8205 Lake Worth Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33467 Phone:(561) 472-5980 Turnpike and Lake Worth Road.

Also, we will not hold a Pilot's raffle but we will instead host a Pasta Dinner on Saturday night (thanks to our dinner sponsors). We will also provide free lunch on Saturday.

The field will be available Friday for practice but be aware that we will not have exclusive use of the filed on Friday. Please work with our PBRCA members to share the field on Friday.

Again, apologies for the loss of camping but the costs were too great.

Please post or mail questions. Get practicing and i will see you there.

Again apologies for those who planned on camping in the park for the weekend. We could not come to terms with the county and it got too expensive to the point it would be cheaper to stay at a hotel.

For those with trailers, campers or toy haulers, you will be allowed to park them at the field overnight on Friday and Saturday, you just cannot stay in them overnight when they close the park.

Please help spread the word about the lack of camping. I understand if you cannot attend without camping.

We will have a food vendor on site Saturday and and Sunday. Also, we will be hosting a pasta dinner on Saturday evening.

Please let me know if you have questions or need directions. The field is easy to get to . Exit the Florida turnpike on Atlantic Ave. (Delray) and head west until Atlantic Avenue ends, Turn right into West Delray Region park. In the park heading north, left at "T" and head for the north east corner of the park.

See you there, Doug

Doug,
The sign up sheet on the IMAC site states, primitive camping OK.
I know a lot of people do not read or follow these threads and,, they are planning for over night camping.

see you soon,
John

Yes John, we had plans to have camping at the field and Parks and Recs changed the rates for security so we had to cancel the camping.

I am hoping the community can help spread the word so that everyone can make alternate plans or cancel.

Again, apologies for the change.

Doug

Looks like a good contest to open the 2017 season. Wanted to let everyone know that I'm having some trouble importing the scores so the posting may be a bit delayed. Am working to resolve the issue(s) and will get them posted as quickly as I can get everything worked out.

Thanks.
