I'm flying an AJ Aircraft Laser 230 Z, 105" with a DA 120cc w/ K&S Canisters and header pipes and is seems when flying aroud half throttle engine sounds like its sputtering. Should I cut my header pipes about an inch or tweek the high end needle ?

your canisters are the 3086?

I do not believe that would be the fix. In my set up, I keep the header at stock length and with KS 3086 cans, the transition is excellent. Could be maybe you need to lean the low end just a tiny bit?

Thanks my friend for the respond, I will try leaning the Low End. Should I leave the High End along ? Yes I do have the KS 3086 Canisters.

How I test my needles, is twofold,

1st is on the ground.

I try not to run the motor up for long on the ground.

but on the ground, I will run the motor up from low idle quickly to wide open throttle.

if the motor spools up immediately and does not stumble, then low speed needle is ok

if when it is WOT, the motor does not peak and then decrease RPM, then High is ok.

then, I will fly it.

IF when I fly it, then perform a up line with the throttle wide open, I will listen to see if the motor fades. if it does, then land the airplane and open the high speed needle, then fly again and do test over again, til it no longer fades.

When you fly her, if you throttle up to mid stick, and the transition is rough or it stumbles, this could indicate that the low is rich.

in this case, land, and lean the low just a tiny bit at a time, like 1/8 turn.
however, if you touch one needle, it can affect the other one.

once the transition is good in the air, then re-do the up line and listen to hear if the motor fades. if it does, then you have to open the high speed needle just a tiny bit.
Wish I could fly everyday!
