Hello I am looking to get a correct or very near correct prop the first time. I have a GP123 V2 with MTW knuckle header and KS 3086 cans in an 104" AJ Slick that is going to be an IMAC plane only. I am looking for a 2 blade prop that will perform well and be quiet or within reason. Can anyone shed some light on a good setup. Thanks for any help with this . BigGrin

Hi Dennis

If you’re flying only imac with the plane I think that a 3 blade prop will be much appropriate for the job so the Mejzlik 26-12N
But if you are still locked on 2 than from my personal experience for IMAC the Mejzlik 28-11 will be great.
It’s a very quiet prop and will work in the 6200-6400 rpm range.
Cheers
Adi

Thanks Adi, being that the cost of a new three blade spinner along with the prop is lets just say a bit much presently . The 28-11 Mejzlic is interesting but not listed on any North American dealer I can find. I did find a Falcon 28-11, do you know if this is a good option or not? Thanks again and I appreciate the help as I do not want to make a mistake on this purchase. Take care

Hi Dennis my pleasure to help a fellow IMAC’er
I can’t say if the two are match I can only say about Mejglik, sorry.
What I do know is that it’s common that Falcon spool faster then Mejzlik so you might get higher RPM but again, it’s me speculating.

Hello Adi, I bought the Mejzlic 28x11 and ended up with a new DA120 with the KS 3086 cans. My plane changed to a AJ Laser 105" which I still hope to fly this year, but most likely it will be next year. I am trying to keep flying all I can well the weather holds out, I will have all winter to build. Take care BigGrin

I did some recent testing on a DA 120 on pipes and found the Mej 28x12 2B and 25x12S 3B to pull very similar but the 2 blade was definitely louder but manageable. An alternative I used for the last 2 seasons is a Beila 26x10 3B but I have found it loads more on up lines and doesn't recover as well after snaps. Other than that pulls good.

This is a great thread as I'm downsizing to a 35% plane this year.

My backup plane has been a 35% (3DHS 106" Edge) and I have flown it a bunch in contests over the past 2 years. It's a DA120 wirh KS86 cans and a Mej 26x10x3 TH. The 26x10x3 prop is really very nice and quiet. I could not get it to rip at all. (that was the prop recommended to me by DA for a Hanger 9 Beast)

I too, am wanting to move to a 2 blade...and a few weeks ago at Nall in the Fall, I flew a new Extreme Flight 35% Laser with a DA120 stock muffs and a mej 28x10 LF and it was not rippy at all...so that's what I'm planning to get here in a few weeks as my plane comes together. I am putting together a new Extreme Flight 105" Slick with DA120 and KS3086 cans.

I think the that for IMAC the 3 blades props are more suitable because it’s not only the noise we are looking for but performance.
But if you wish to fly precision with a 2 blade you might want to make the pitch bigger, being said, try the 28-11 it will make the RPM drop in just a bit but the pull will be much bigger and with less noise.

But again these are fine tuning it’s all about your choice and habits.

I tried a Mej 26x10TH 3B today and I liked it. Better upline acceleration and down line braking. Only downside is it is louder but not obnoxious. 35# with a full load of fuel and it will climb. I'll take it.

The TH is a bit louder.
I love the TH series, I use the 29-12N 3 blades on mine.
It’s a bit louder but with the right throttle management you can make it very quite.
The prop spins much faster so you get the pull and power instantly.

Well Adi I thought I best reply and thank you for the prop recommendation. The Mejzlik 28x11 2 blade is really nice on the Laser with the DA120 and 3086 cans. It pulls it great and is very nice and quiet with reasonable throttle management. It does pull like a freight train I must say, wow.
