This is my first post on the forum. I'd love to host here, but the land owners are dragging their feet. With the loss of Hillsdale we are down to one event in Kansas and we have nothing in Missouri. I'll bust my A** to do whatever is needed to get a few more events in the northern states of the region. Any feedback and helpful suggestions on where to start are welcome. There are at least 3-5 good looking flying fields within 50-100 miles of my rural location in south central Kansas. I just don't know how to approach clubs about hosting an IMAC event.

Thanks for the help guys!

Chris, I think it would be great to get some more "Northern Exposure" (Pun Intended!)
You have some great resources up there in Rudy Voldrich, LArry Kayich and Vince Bartone. I also think that Nick Scharping wanted to do a contest next year. He would be a great one contact.

When approaching clubs I usually tell them about the excitement of competing and the great comradery that we share. We have a SC Video and a World's Video that we can also share.

The next step is to probably offer some kind of Aerobatic Fun Day or Boot camp for the club. Then we can move on to a full contest.

But, honestly every situation is a little different. Some clubs are all in right away. We also have the brochure for the Novice Class and a What Is IMAC Brochure that you can use.

Let me know what all you need.

I just sent this e-mail to the pilots that were pre-registered
Hi Rich and all,
Just thinking aloud.  If you guys want to do a weekend of coaching, trimming, practicing, etc. I could try to get the RCB field that weekend (the weekend that contest was planned).  This is not a big deal because most of our members are retired and use the field during the week.  Let me know what you think.  I know that is not very good time of the year to do this but why not.  Some of you guys probably want to get that additional 1/2 point you need for the remaining contest of this season.
Best,
Vicente "Vince" Bortone

Vincente,

That is an awesome idea.
I have a work trip that week and weekend and cannot come, but hopefully some of the guys will be able to get together, practice and have some fun!

OK. Sounds like a plan. Please send me an e-mail to vincebrc@gmail.com if you want to come that weekend. This will be October 5-6. This is not a contest and will be just a day or two of practice. I will prepare the electronic scribe for those that want to get a chance to see how it works. I will set up the system to work with current IMAC schedules.
