This must be the best plane I have sever built. It’s the 55 inch Edge 540 from Phoenix models. Yes it’s an ARF but I made a number of kit bash modification. First off I had an extra cowl left over from the first one I built. (Then crashed)
So I made an air scoop to assure plenty of cooling. .
I also got a Slimline Pitts muffler and an os 55 ax. I needed to remount the engine to the 90 deg position . This also made it super easy to adjust the carb. I bought all new servos. I got the Wolverine switch with redundant batteries. I replaced the tank with a clear soda bottle tank and moved it back to be closer to the center of gravity. I made a battery tray under the tank with twin 2000 mHa batteries . I also added an onboard glow system.
To further move weight to the front I mounted the throttle servo into the motor box shortening the throttle pushrod to four inches.
I replaced the aileron linkage with sturdy 4-40 bell cranks linkage to make that very stiff.

The plane balances perfectly with this set up. As it is winter I have not yet flown it. But if it flies anything like the last one it will be great.
