Ok Wayne M. my bad. My intent was not to draw attention to "who" put the rule out for vote but thanks for clearing that up.
I would like to voice my opinions to the proper AMA SACB member for the SC IMAC region. Does anyone have a link because I have been to the AMA site and cannot find it. I do run cans and a carbon 3BL but I'll be tempted to quit IMAC if the AMA passes this crap. Might be more fun to fly full scale bird over the AMA HQ with the props pushed up.

Wayne,

How do I apply for a Sound Waiver for my contest? Where do I go to fill out a form or what is the proceedure?

I sent an email to MAAC and they passed it on to Bob Hudson to answer.
This is what Bob sent me.

MAAC Scale Aerobatic rules state that MAAC sanctioned Scale Aerobatic
contests follow ALL the rules set forth by the International Miniature
Aerobatic Club ( IMAC ) in the USA. We therefore follow the AMA rulebook.

As such, if a Canadian contest director does wish to go with a deviation
from the rules he should state this in his sanction request to his MAAC
Zone Director.

We have "Zones" in Canada as you have "Regions" in the USA and "Zone
Directors" instead of Regional VPs. Our event sanctions get submitted to
our Zone Directors for approval.

Bottom line, yes, the contest director should state on his contest
sanction that he is running the contest with a deviation to the rules and
he should state the deviation as well as the original rule in his request
so the ZD well understands the deviation.

Yes, contest sanctions ( with or without deviation) should be no later
that 30 days before the event. Yes, if he decides on issuing a deviation
AFTER the original sanction has been approved that should also be approved
by the Zone Director no later that 30 days prior to the event. It is not
"written in stone ( that I am aware of) , but notice of a subsequent
deviation to an earlier approved event should be posted on our Canadian
Scale Aerobatic website http://www.scaleaerobaticscanada.com (
www.peneloperc.com ) ( www.scaleaerobatics.ca )

Like I said earlier, the Board members put in lot of hard work and personal time and I commend them for it. There is usually something lost in translation sometimes and people are usually reactionary as apposed to being proactive.

I have seen in other arenas, especially racing, where they "rule" themselves out of existence. You have break-off sanctionaing bodies for a particular region, which just hurts all in the end.

Wayne mentioned that the only that can be done now is call your regional SACB member, which I know his stance and how he will voice. Should we all call all of the SACB AMA members.

As memtioned this has been talked about before, As for me I can get "information overload". I usually don't have time to sit and brouse 4-5 web sites, through all the forums to find out information that is actually pertinent. The IMAC site is new to an extent and I am to blame myself for not following every hour of every day to see what kind of crap is going to forced upon us by either the BOD or some mercinary that thinks his field is the only one in existence and sends out an RCP that effects everyone.

Wow.

I can't speak for the individuals....
but, to my knowledge, any RCP that the BOD has submitted came via the Rules committee and/or individual members and were posted on the IMAC website for over a month for review.

There also was an email blast to all IMAC members notifying them of the posted RCP's

Wayne,

Thanx for the update from MAAC and BoB Hudson.

I'll be sure to let the other Canadian CD's know about this and we will take appropriate actions to ensure our sanctions are in order.

I am against regulating equipment (and this is what this is). What next? Will we be regulating types of aircraft that can be built? A fiberglass fuse. will make more noise than one made out of foam, or wood and foam combo. Do we then dictate what type of construction is allowed?

With all the opinions out there on both our site and the FG site has anyone thought to do a poll simply stating for or against this or any rcp..This way there will be somewhat of a consensus and a comparison of how WE think it should evolve and/or how the board votes...especially since this concerns us and the betterment of all.

The board has nothing to do with this any more.

The board had asked for opinions a while back and submitted several RCP's direct to the AMA.
So it is now out of the IMAC BOD's hands and in the hands of the SACB

Should anyone have an opinion one way or another on any RCP, you should contact your district board member directly

Hello all This week, on flying giants, I proposed that IMAC contests be held in all parts of the country. As was done at Enid, Oklahoma, 1999. This post was Ignored!! I know the topic was sound, however there seems to be less problems with sound when contests are held elsewhere other than Muncie. What do youall think.
